Staying Fit and Healthy during Lockdown in our Leicester Student Accommodation

We understand that right now it can be hard to find motivation to stay fit and healthy, so we've put together some ideas of things you can do to stay active during lockdown when staying at our Leicester student accommodation.

Walk around your local park

Leicester is home to many beautiful parks; so grab your coat, scarf and gloves... it's time to explore! Abbey Park and Victoria Park both offer a huge space to venture in and both include beautiful gardens open to all visitors. This is a great way to see sites you might often miss and get your steps in! Not only will this get you out the house, but a walk will also boost your mental health. It helps improve creativity, reduce stress and calm anxiety.

Run a mile or two

If you want to challenge yourself, get your trainers on and run for a mile or two. We recommend putting all your favourite tunes into a playlist that you can listen to every step of the way. Why not download MapMyRun to track your targets and goals - we find this app perfect for boosting motivation.

Bring the gym to your home

Want to train specific muscles at home? No problem! There are so many home workouts now available on YouTube, most which involve ZERO equipment (so there's no excuses). If you're ready to take home workouts to the next level then investing in gym equipment might be something worth while. However, that's something you won't have to do if staying with us, here at Student Beehive, we offer an on-site gym for everyone who stays with us - book here if you want to learn more: https://studentbeehive.co.uk/

Start something new

Want to start a new hobby? Now is the best time to do so! Whether it's skipping, hula hooping, yoga or something different; you can give it a go at home. We'd recommend finding social media accounts who share the same interest so you can follow along to give it your best go.
